I understand what you are saying about don't prejudge....make your place special, etc .... but at the same time, sometimes when you are bartending in a convention environment and you are knee deep in alligators.. and you've got knuckleheads from out of town yelling for drinks from all directions ... you have to kinda tune it out and do one thing at a time ... yes, you want to make some money ... but there also has to be some sort of dignity involved from both sides. make sense???

Well put! I was with the class taking them on a field trip to a sports bar in town and the owner said and it is true that bartenders are basically sub-contractors. The amount of income you make is entirely up to you. Like I said as well in one of my blogs in October is never prejudge anyone.Treat everyone equal and they all become your regulars , not just a few.
